Contact the Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 if you smell gas.         

WATER
Contact Yorkshire Water on 0845 124 2424 for a total loss of supply to you and neighbours. They also are responsible for water main bursts, overflowing/blocked drains and shared drains whether council or private.         

ELECTRICITY
Contact Northern Powergrid on 0800 011 3332 if you have been affected by a power cut.      

HIGHWAYS
For any emergency that could cause harm to people or property and is in relation to a road traffic accident, missing gully or man-hole cover or an obstruction in the road then please phone 0113 376 0499 (option 2).   

NOISE PROBLEMS
Telephone 0113 376 0337. The service operates from 6pm to 3:30am for noise problems at night or weekends/bank holidays. You can also report a noise nuisance by clicking here. We advise in the first instance to try and resolve any such issues yourself by informally talking to the people responsible.

ANIMAL CRUELTY
Please call the 24-hour cruelty line on 0300 1234 999 to report cruelty, neglect or an animal in distress. You can also visit the RSPCA website by clicking here which contains lots of advice regarding reporting cruelty.

If you can’t afford food, you can call 0808 2082138 (freephone) to speak to a trained and independent Citizens Advice agent (Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm). Please note this number is for people who do not have enough money for food – if you are a local organisation or charity that works with people who might need the food bank, please contact the food bank directly.
Alternatively, please call 0113 376 0330 to speak to the Local Welfare Support Team who will be able to issue you with a food bank voucher if necessary.
