New street lighting for Rothwell residents is part of a Leeds-wide new street-lighting scheme. "The main work is due to take place in Rothwell during March." said contractor SEC
UK's biggest street lighting project.Over the next five years more than £94m will be spent replacing 73,500 lampposts in a programme which will rid Leeds of its nightime orange glow. The familiar orange lamps will be replaced by brighter white lights that use less energy. The scheme also includes new illuminated traffic signs and improved lighting in tunnels, underpasses, cycle paths and pedestrian subways. |
