Rothwell in Bloom is a group of local people aiming to
encourage others to take pride in the Rothwell area by
working to improve public areas, private gardens and business
premises. We work closely with Parks & Countryside
division of Leeds City Council and with our local ward
councillors. Working parties start every Thursday morning
at 10.00 until 12 noon, meeting at the Blackburn Hall car
park and with a break for tea and biscuits. Some knowledge
of garden plants and shrubs would be helpful. Monthly meetings
are held on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in
the Windmill Youth Centre, Marsh Street, Rothwell. Here we all are at the opening of Margaret's Garden on Sunday 7th September 2008, accompanied by the Mayor of Leeds and councillor Don Wilson, sporting our new blue shirts.
All
are welcome to come along to find out how we work and to
offer comments and advice. We are always looking for more
volunteers – not only for working parties but to
help with planning, fund raising and general finance.

We are currently planting up our gardens with winter bedding; this is Margaret's Garden.
One of our projects in 2008/2009 is to improve the two beds in Church Street opposite Holy Trinity Church.
