Leeds Voice is the Community Empowerment Network (CEN) for Leeds Metropolitan District. We exist to strengthen and represent the voluntary, community and faith sector throughout the Leeds Metropolitan district. We do this in the following ways:
  • Building the capacity of the sector and securing recognition as full and respected partners.
  • Enabling voluntary, community and faith sector representation and participation at a local level.
  • Actively supporting the sectors by promoting communication and partnership, through information sharing, networking and strategic advocacy.
  • Ensuring that all our work is underpinned by a commitment to recognising and valuing the diversity of our city.
As an organisation, we have four key roles to play;
  • We REPRESENT the voluntary, community and faith sector throughout the decision making structures in Leeds
  • We provide a COMMUNICATION NETWORK through our 3000+ members with forums, events, newsletters, leaflets and a dedicated staff team
  • We provide CONSULTATION & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT to the sector through 'pREParation training', workshops and 'grass roots' involvement
  • We circulate INFORMATION about the sector through our network of members

We work on both a strategic and local level throughout our three teams; the Strategy Team, which encompasses the VCFS Strategy Group - the strategic lead for the sector, the Community Regeneration Team, who empower and facilitate engagement at a local level, and the Operations Team who oversee our communications network, run events and provide essential supprot to the teams.
