Recycling old appliances? PDF Print E-mail

Tony writes:

Does anyone know of a scheme fairly locally that recycles and repairs household goods to pass on to people in need? I know such a scheme did exist in Leeds, which I think was run by Leeds council to give young people an occupation, and stop them going "wrong" I have some articles that are no longer any use to me, and are going to end up in the Gamblethorpe skips unless I can find such a scheme. One item is a 14 inch colour tv, which needs a simple repair to the sound, but otherwise it's ok.

I know that there must be many people like me, who probably just need the space, who throw stuff away because they can't find a better home for it. I see many examples of waste when I dump stuff at Gamblethorpe. It is called "Recyling", but it ends up as landfill

Please contact the webmaster with any replies and I'll pass them on or update this page.
