Welcome to the new web page for Great and Little Preston in Bloom.  We are a small group of volunteers whose aim is to improve our public areas within the two villages, and enthuse other residents to join us and take pride in our environment. Spring Clean Up 2010

 A very big thank you to all those who came along to join in the village clean up on the morning of Sunday 11th April in preparation for the Spring judging of the Yorkshire in Bloom competition. The turnout surpassed all expectations and the event was a great success.  As well as unearthing and amassing a large amount of rubbish (we could easily set up in the scrap metal business!!) it was also a most enjoyable social occasion. 

Especially appreciated was the excellent lunch of home-made meat and potato pie and mushy peas followed by a selection of home-baked cakes all washed down with a variety of drinks.  This  was served in the Village Hall - which resounded to much happy chatter and laughter until late in the afternoon. Particularly rewarding was the extra support that materialised in response to the 'flyers' distributed a few days earlier.  Thanks, again, to all who took part.  PHOTOGRAPHS TO FOLLOW.
