 Rothwell Carnival Radio 87.7 FMIs on the air once more this year - from the 10th to the 17th July. More details... Rothwell Carnival (will it be the last?) The Rothwell Carnival will be taking place on Saturday 11th July, it's traditional date of the second Saturday in July. The event will take place in Springhead Park starting at around midday going on until around 5pm (timings to be confirmed).
There will be a couple of changes to the event this year. First of all the procession will be getting amended. We are looking at having shorter procession starting in the park which will remove the need for any road closures and save the community a few quid in the process. Another change will be the lack of a fairground at this years event. Due to the lack of interest by the fairground community we have decided to make the unfortunate decision to cancel this. The upside to this is that the community groups who do want to come to the event and provide entertainment will benefit from extra custom. This will be the last carnival organised by the current Rothwell Entertainments team. Hopefully some other volunteers will step forward to take over the REC events. Welcome
