May Day Weekend – What’s On!

May Day is one of the best times of the year, spring has sprung, the smell of newly cut grass and a Bank Holiday! So if you fancy some time away from spring cleaning or gardening, here are a few local events:

FRIDAY 28TH APRIL
THE FIRST METHLEY FEAST OF THE YEAR – The Boundary House, Methley

The Methley Feast is a FREE street food and music party, that takes place on the last Friday of the month between April and September.

The Feast takes over the Boundary House Pub and its grounds to the event, and the street food vendors set up stalls on the car park and on the lower terrace. There is wide variation of vendors from wood fired pizzas, new orleans bbq, Moroccan to Malaysian!

Add to the mix some great djs, an outside bar and some occasional live music you have the perfect recipe for a great gathering. And fingers crossed for decent weather!


SATURDAY 29TH APRIL 10am – 2pm
RADICAL RUN – Templenewsam House, East Leeds

Radical Run is a fun and challenging obstacle course designed especially for children aged 5 to 14. The majority of obstacles are inflatables, so no mud and water, making this a clean and enjoyable experience.

Set in the fantastic grounds of Temple Newsam. Climb, bounce and jump your way over a number of specially created obstacles. Complete the obstacle course and collect your finishers goodie bag and t-shirt!

Family and friends are welcome to watch for free. Tickets are £21.83.


SUNDAY 30TH APRIL
STUDENT COLOUR RUN – LEEDS

For the students and student friendly people of Leeds. Run (walk, jog or hop) a unique route, joining thousands of participants, get fit, get showered in coloured powder, make memories, make a mess, and make new friend.

MONDAY 1st MAY – 11am – 4pm
MAY DAY CELEBRATIONS – ROTHWELL – PASTURES, STONE BRIGG LANE.

Get yourself down to the Pastures for a great afternoon of fun including:

Magic Shows, Market Stalls, Owl Display, Face Painting, Donkey Rides, Exotic Animals, Fair Ground, Punch & Judy.

PLUS the Crowning of the May Queen!   AND….. Maypole Dancing from 11:45am

NOT FORGETTING the now famous annual Duck Race at 3:45pm!!!


SATURDAY 29th APRIL TO MONDAY1st MAY
LOTHERTON HALL FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL

Welcome to foodie heaven where you will have an endless choice of delicious cuisines to choose from and plenty of drinks to wash it all down once you’ve finished your feast. There’s plenty of entertainment and stalls to explore so book your ticket (£5.50) for an exciting day out.
