Hi everyone, after a miserable start to the day, we’ve finally got some sunshine! Here’s this weeks What’s On list to take us through the bank holiday weekend – hope you all enjoy your extra day off!


MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU QUIZ
THURSDAY 3RD MAY 8PM – 11PM

Join the team to see how well you know the Star Wars universe? Cast your mind back to a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away with this Star Wars themed quiz night. There will be a complimentary supper and spot prizes! Entry £2 per team.


MEDITATION WORKSHOP
THURSDAY 3RD MAY 7PM – 9PM
The Rivers Meet, 102 Leeds Road, Methley, LS26 9EP

If something a bit more serene is your thing, then get yourself down to The Rivers Meet, to learn the basics of meditation, including breathing techniques and heart centred meditations.
Halle and Sharon will guide you through some wonderful journeys of self discovery, including time for discussions too. Investment is £7.


80’S DISCO & KARAOKE NIGHT
FRIDAY 4TH MAY 7.30PM – LATE!

It’s finally here and you should all have your tickets by now for the great night of 80’s music and karaoke!
In aid of the Bradley Lowery Foundation, all profits from the night will be donated, so lets travel back to the 80’s for a night of song, dance, music, food and fun! Why not dress as your favourite 80’s icon – there will be a prize for the best dressed! Plus games and a raffle.

BLUEBELL WALKS
SUNDAY 6TH & MONDAY 7TH MAY 11.10AM, 1.10PM & 2.50PM
Middleton Railway Park Halt, Moor Road, Hunslet, LS10 2JQ

I know its not LS26, but sure to be a relaxing walk if the weather stays fine!
Enjoy a guided stroll to the Visitor Centre through the splendour that is the carpet of Bluebells in Middleton woods. The walk will take aproximately 30 to 40 mins, and is up hill and could be on unsurfaced paths.
The walks start at Park Halt station on the Middleton Railway and the start is timed to meet the Middleton Railway’s 11:00am, 1:00pm and 2:40pm trains from Moor Road.
The walk goes to the Visitor Centre, where refreshments will be available.
For those that want to explore further, there are many alterative walks round the woods that can be taken back to the Park Halt station. Or you can return via a direct road that takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
PLEASE NOTE – the walks start at Middleton Railway Park Halt.


MAY DAY CELEBRATIONS!

Rothwell & District Carnival committee are proud to present the 2018 May Day Celebrations. Join them for the Crowning of the May Queen and Maypole Dancing from 11.45am, and then have a relaxing stroll around the many stalls and enjoy some of the entertainment on offer including a magic show, owl display and much more. Oh and don’t forget the annual Duck Race at 3.45pm – not to be missed!
