What’s On… 16th November onwards..

Here is another installment of our popular What’s On. This coming week we have quite a few interesting events from a Ladies Night at the Old Halfway House to a Litter Pick around Rothwell. Both equally enjoying no doubt!


LADIES NIGHT
FRIDAY 17TH NOVEMBER
Old Halfway House, Rothwell

Nibbles and a glass of prosecco included, plus ‘Younique’ make up reps and of course butler strippers on hand to assist. This event is hosted by the DreamGirls and tickets cost £10.


CHARITY COFEE MORNING WITH STALLS
FRIDAY 17TH NOVEMBER 10am – 12 noon

In aid of BBC Children in need.


POT POURRI – AUTUMN FUNDRAISING CONCERT – ROTHWELL COMPETITIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL
SATURDAY 18TH NOVEMBER 2:30pm
Rothwell Methodist Church, Butcher Lane, Rothwell LS26 0DB

Features the Fortunes male voice quartet, David Wilks on organ and Carl Leighton on Piano plus the choir of St Benedict’s junior school in Garforth.

Tickets are £6 and are available on the night or from Olwyn Fox on Commercial Street. Proceeds go towards the Rothwell Competitive Music Festival.


LITTER PICK AND BECK CLEARING
SATURDAY 18TH NOVEMBER 10am – 2pm
Springhead Park, Rothwell

Hosted by Leeds Parks and Countryside Service

Would you like to help maintain and improve Springhead Park for the benefit of all? If so, the Leeds Parks and Countryside Service are planning to undertake a park clean-up in and alongside the river on Sat. 18th Nov, 10am-2pm. Meet at the top entrance on Park Lane. All equipment will be provided by council staff. There will be opportunities to discuss ideas for future activities with the park ranger and existing volunteers. CRAFTS FAIR
SATURDAY 18TH NOVEMBER 10am – 2pm
Swillington Village Hall, Church Lane, Swillington.

Admission and car parking is free and refreshments will also be on sale. A good chance to get a few Christmas presents that are a bit different to the norm and certainly better than a gift voucher!


RODILLIAN ACADEMY CHRISTMAS GIFT AND CRAFT FAIR
SATURDAY 18TH NOVEMBER 11am – 3pm
Longthorpe Lane, Lofthouse WF3 3PU

Plenty of stalls and more Christmas gift ideas! So when you have been to the craft fair at Swillington, get yourself over to Rodillian for a second dose of Craft Fair indulgence!


HANDBAG POP UP SHOP
SATURDAY 18TH NOVEMBER 12pm – 2pm
Rivers Meet Cafe, 102 Leeds Road, Methley LS26 9EP

Don’t miss the final pop up shop of the year at Rivers Meet. Plenty of gift ideas, with lots of leather handbags, purses and wallets all designed in Yorkshire. Card payments are accepted and you can enjoy a cake and coffee as well as a browse around the shop. Beats the city crush and certainly a good half way point between the two craft fairs.


ROBIN HOOD ATHLETIC v WHITKIRK WANDERERS (DISTRICT CUP QUARTER FINAL)
SATURDAY 18TH NOVEMBER 2pm
The Coach Ground (Behind the Coach & Horses pub)

If Craft Fairs are your not thing why not get yourself to the Coach Ground and support Robin Hood Athletic in their important District Cup Quarter Final against Whitkirk Wanderers. Kick off is at 2pm and afterwards you can pop into the Coach & Horses pub to replenish any lost fluids from shouting on the terracing.


CHRISTMAS FAIR – HOSTED BY READY PLANTED
SUNDAY 19TH NOVEMBER 11am – 3pm

TIME OUT ROTHWELL

The bereavement support group are meeting again this coming Tuesday. It’s a chance to meet new friends in a calm and friendly atmosphere and chat about ‘everything’.  The ‘chats’ are confidential; what’s said in the group, stays in the group….
