Carnival Day was brilliant!
We had a great day of family fun at Springhead Park in Rothwell on Saturday. A big thank you to everybody who has contributed to that and especially the Rothwell and District Carnival Committe who did a fantastic job. Thank you too for all who helped tidying up, picking up the litter - You would not have known that we had thousands of people in the park all day - Well done everybody!!
Rothwell Scarecrow Festival
The first Scarecrow Festival in Rothwell is being held on 24 25 26 july in the Rothwell town centre and surrounding area. Shops will be displaying a scarecrow made to look and represent their own trade ie. a butcher baker hairdresser and many more. Rothwell's Britain in bloom group will be making one to sit on benches near the flower displays near Blackburn Hall. Other groups and organisations who would like to join in making one and bringing it down are welcome to do so. Any scarecrows would have to be maintained and removed each evening. On the 11th and 12th August there is a Rothwell Jazz Festival planned to be held at the Hare & Hounds. Details as we get them.
